Your loan settings and privacy

The calculator processes your loan in your browser. Saving settings on this device is optional. Sharing grouped usage data is a separate, optional choice, initially off. Advertising is currently inactive while site and consent checks are pending.

Calculating and downloading

Our application calculates the exact inputs, comparison, results and schedule locally. It does not upload exact loan settings or schedule rows to our server, include them in page addresses, or use them in our application logs. You do not need an account.

CSV, PDF and printing happen only when you request them. Files are made in your browser and contain the selected exact inputs and results. A download is separate from saving settings in the app. You control downloaded files, printed copies and any copies you later share.

Save on this device: 90 days

Save on this device stores valid settings for A and, if present, B, the selected scenario, model version and expiry time in this browser’s storage on loanpaymenttool.com. It does not store schedule rows, names, email addresses or a visitor ID. We use this storage to reopen the settings you asked us to save.

The saved copy expires 90 days after your last explicit Save. Editing or reopening does not extend that period or overwrite the saved copy. On reopening, settings are validated and recalculated with the current model; incompatible settings are rejected.

Clear saved settings removes the app’s saved loan settings. Expired settings are removed the next time the site opens. We cannot remotely erase storage in a browser that never returns, or delete files you downloaded. Your browser may separately restore form values or history; that is different from the app’s Save function. Use a private device or clear the site’s browser data if other people use this browser.

Optional grouped usage data

Share grouped usage data asks for your consent to help us understand which model ranges, frequencies and features are useful. It is off by default and separate from saving a loan or any advertising choice. You can calculate, compare, export and save without agreeing.

When collection is available and you agree, a successful explicit Calculate sends broad categories for A and, if present, B to our same-site analytics endpoint. The browser groups them before sending:

Loan amount, USD
$100–under $1,000; $1,000–under $5,000; $5,000–under $10,000; $10,000–under $25,000; $25,000–under $50,000; $50,000–under $100,000; $100,000–$10,000,000.
Nominal annual interest
0%; above 0–3%; above 3–6%; above 6–10%; above 10–20%; above 20–36%.
Planned model duration
Up to 1 year; above 1–3 years; above 3–5 years; above 5–10 years; above 10–30 years.
Payment frequency and extras
One of the six calculator frequencies, and whether extras are none, recurring, one-time or both. Extra-payment amounts are not sent.
Feature use
Separate fixed action labels for opening comparison, CSV download, PDF download, requesting print and successfully saving settings. They do not include loan categories.

Our endpoint receives no exact amount, rate, term, extra amount, schedule, free text or persistent analytics ID. It stores separate monthly category counters, rather than individual events or linked combinations. Recalculating counts again; A/B counts two scenarios. Counts describe calculations and actions, not unique people, verified loans or completed print jobs.

The consent preference is stored separately from loan settings for 180 days, then returns to off until you choose again. You can withdraw using Do not share / withdraw in Privacy choices on the calculator. Withdrawal stops future submissions. Earlier separate counters cannot be located as your contribution for individual retrieval or removal.

Grouped monthly counters have no fixed expiry. We retain them for product analysis, potentially indefinitely, including in a private archive if the site closes. This does not extend local settings, consent or technical-log retention. Collection stops if its maintenance or capacity checks fail; there is no browser queue of submissions to send later.

Cloudflare hosting and technical information

Cloudflare hosts the site and processes the optional analytics requests and counter storage on our behalf. Normal hosting and security traffic can include IP addresses, requested public pages, browser or connection information and request times. We use this processing to deliver and protect the site, based on our legitimate interest in reliable, secure operation. Our usage counters do not use IP addresses to identify visitors.

Our daily maintenance keeps technical daily-budget totals for the current and previous UTC day. A hosting or maintenance outage can delay deletion; collection stops when its last successful maintenance is more than 36 hours old. Database recovery history can retain deleted technical records for up to seven days. Provider connection and security logs are separate: we have not established one retention period for every provider copy. The Cloudflare privacy policy describes its traffic and service processing.

Processing may occur outside your country. Cloudflare’s Data Processing Addendum describes its processor terms and international-transfer safeguards. Broad counters reduce the data we collect; we do not claim that every part of the request flow is anonymous.

Advertising is currently inactive

No advertising or advertising-consent scripts load in this version. The planned funding model is manually placed AdSense advertising on eligible pages, including the calculator, after site approval and the required consent setup and checks. Advertising choices will be separate from our own grouped-data consent. The policy and controls must reflect the actual provider setup before activation.

External advertising scripts running on these pages could technically read the input fields and this site’s local storage. Saving locally is therefore not technical isolation from future advertising scripts. Our application does not pass exact loan values, saved scenarios or usage categories as ad parameters or targeting data; that does not guarantee what provider JavaScript can access.

Optional feedback

When you choose Give feedback, we load a Tally form to collect your message and optional category and email address. We send only fixed site, page, component, language, release and environment identifiers. We do not attach your calculator input, results or page query string. Please leave out personal financial information.

We use feedback to improve the site and may use your optional email only for follow-up about your message. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in understanding and fixing product problems. Feedback is not a marketing subscription.

Tally receives your message and ordinary connection information, including your IP address. See Tally’s privacy policy. We remove the optional contact field and minimise personal details before sending feedback to OpenAI’s Codex for AI-assisted analysis. This processing uses external services and does not happen entirely on your device. International processing and provider recovery periods may apply; see OpenAI’s privacy policy.

Access is limited to the operator and authorised processing. We may keep restricted backups of feedback and review progress in Google Drive; see Google’s privacy policy. We review raw feedback and its backups for deletion after 90 days. Recovery periods may apply. We retain minimised improvement themes only while needed, and a person decides what to change. AI analysis does not make decisions about you with legal or similarly significant effects. Use the contact details below or on Publisher & contact for a privacy request.

Contact and your rights

If you email us, we use your sender details and message to answer the enquiry, investigate a correction or handle a privacy request. The basis is our legitimate interest in responding, or a legal obligation where applicable. Email providers also handle delivery and storage. Please use fictitious example amounts and do not send account numbers or personal financial records. Correspondence is kept while needed for the enquiry or an applicable legal obligation, then removed; provider recovery copies may remain separately.

Where the GDPR applies, you may request access, correction, erasure or restriction, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and request portability where its conditions are met. Consent can be withdrawn without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing. Rights have legal limits. We do not use this data for automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. The EDPB guide explains these rights.

Use Publisher & contact to make a request. We normally respond to applicable GDPR requests within one month, explaining a permitted extension or any limit when needed. We may need enough information to verify your identity. You can complain to your competent data protection authority, including the Dutch Data Protection Authority, without contacting us first.
